When I asked Mr Abbe why sometimes the position of tori and uke was different from the one in the book Illustrated Kodokan Judo , published by Kodokan in 1955, he answered:
"Mr Kano has sometimes changed the way of perfoming the kata and I chose this version for the British Judo Council, which is different from the one performed by the British Judo Federation"
